Two high school students from Papua recently participated in Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebrations as members of the prestigious Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta with President Prabowo Subianto. Franciscus Sakfiris Pahabolisage and Stincek Laramiapa, representing Papua Pegunungan Province and Papua Tengah Province respectively, expressed their pride and excitement at being selected for this honor. Franciscus mentioned his gratitude for the opportunity, while Stincek emphasized her commitment to delivering an excellent performance. Both students went through a rigorous selection process and training, which served to strengthen their teamwork and camaraderie. Despite feeling nervous, they expressed joy and excitement about the upcoming event and meeting the President in person. Their journey and dedication reflect their determination to make their country proud on the big day.
