President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly welcomed the President of Peru, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The event was attended by around 3,000 students from various schools in the capital city. President Boluarte arrived at the palace in a grand motorcade, escorted by motorcycle troops and mounted guards. Upon her arrival, she was personally greeted by President Prabowo, and the two leaders together listened to the national anthems of both Peru and Indonesia. They then inspected the honor guard and paid respect to their national flags before introducing their official delegations. Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers during the meeting, where they discussed strengthening relations between the two countries.
The two countries also share membership in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a platform for economic cooperation in the region. This meeting between the Indonesian and Peruvian presidents was a reciprocal gesture following Prabowo’s official visit to Peru last year. It aimed to further enhance diplomatic ties and cooperation between the two nations.
