This article discusses the official visit of Indonesian Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto to Papua New Guinea, where he met with Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape. During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. Prabowo highlighted opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as food production, agriculture, fisheries, mining, minerals, and tourism. He also offered opportunities for Papua New Guinean youths to study at the Indonesian Defense University. Marape appreciated Prabowo’s commitment to fostering peace and reconciliation and noted the improved relationship between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. He mentioned that the barriers to the relationship have been removed, opening up new opportunities for collaboration and business between the two countries.
