The Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, visited Kalurahan Banyusoco in Gunungkidul, DIY to inspect the installation of clean water pipes. The assistance provided by the Ministry of Defense and the Defense University of Indonesia aims to help communities facing a clean water crisis in the region, especially during the dry season.

The clean water pipe aid program will enable the locals to have access to water for agricultural irrigation, allowing them to harvest up to three times a year. Previously, the community could only harvest once a year, but with this assistance, they can now increase their harvest frequency.

The water source in Kalurahan Banyusoco comes from a cave in the area, and work is being done on 16 clean water source points in the cave to irrigate about 7,400 hectares of agricultural land. The Unhan RI Water Task Force has been active in discovering water sources and building clean water installations in various regions, benefitting communities across Indonesia.

The inauguration event was attended by several TNI and Unhan officials, demonstrating the collaborative effort in providing clean water to communities in need.
