President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed General Bryan Patrick Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), during a courtesy visit at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The meeting between the two leaders was characterized by warm exchanges as they reiterated their mutual commitment to enhancing defense cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.
President Prabowo warmly greeted General Fenton with a military salute, commenting on his fit appearance. In return, General Fenton presented President Prabowo with the USSOCOM Honor Medal in acknowledgment of his exceptional leadership and dedication in improving defense relations, particularly in the field of special operations. General Fenton commended President Subianto for his visionary leadership in strengthening bilateral defense ties and international collaboration, emphasizing joint efforts in counterterrorism, strategic cooperation, and regional security.
During the meeting, General Fenton placed the USSOCOM Honor Medal around President Prabowo’s neck and presented him with a ceremonial gift. The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who accompanied President Prabowo during the discussions.
