National Children’s Day in Indonesia is not just a yearly festivity; it holds a deeper significance for President Prabowo Subianto. The government has implemented three key programs aimed at improving the well-being of children: Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization. MBG, also known as Makan Bergizi Gratis, goes beyond merely providing food to ensure children receive essential nutrients for proper growth and development. This initiative addresses the issue of many school-aged children going to school without eating breakfast, leading to concentration problems and health issues like anemia. Alongside MBG, Free Health Checkups are being offered to students to monitor their physical and mental health, aligning with the constitutional right to health for all citizens. The School Revitalization Program, funded by President Prabowo’s allocation of Rp 20 trillion in the national budget, aims to renovate over 11,000 schools to provide a safe and conducive learning environment. This program prioritizes schools in remote, underdeveloped areas with severe structural damage, addressing challenges faced by students, particularly girls, in accessing proper facilities. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and future prospects of Indonesia’s children.
