from the jungle floor. I immediately ordered the helicopter gunships to attack the mountain. The helicopters were carrying Army bomb squad troops who rappelled out of the aircraft and stormed the mountain. After a brief but intense firefight, they managed to neutralize the guards and secure the hostages. It was an incredible success. I was so relieved and grateful that the hostages were rescued safely. Amidst the chaos, I saw Warrant Officer Bayani sitting calmly by a tree, his face covered in dirt and sweat, but with a big smile on his face. I walked over to him and shook his hand, thanking him for his invaluable contribution to the mission’s success. He simply nodded and said, ‘Just doing my job, General.’ Bayani’s bravery, expertise, and intuition played a crucial role in the success of the operation. He truly was a hero in every sense of the word. I will never forget his actions on that day, and I am honored to have served alongside such a remarkable soldier.
