Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto provided guidance to the young officer candidates (capaja) of the TNI-Polri held at Balai Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Friday (12/7).
In front of 906 capajas, consisting of 417 capajas from the Army, 129 capajas from the Navy, 113 capajas from the Air Force, and 247 capajas from the Police, Prabowo said that serving as a TNI and Polri soldier is a noble calling.
“I must remind you that the profession you have chosen requires great sacrifice and the greatest willingness that demands your soul and body,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo then advised all upcoming capajas to always defend Indonesia.
“The fate of the nation and its people lies on your shoulders. You are chosen, you are selected, you are trained so that when the time comes, you must defend your Homeland,” Prabowo said.
The president-elect for 2024-2029 also reminded the capajas of the national objectives stated in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution.
“Our national goal, as stated in the Preamble of our Constitution, is very clear and explicit: to protect all the people of Indonesia,” Prabowo said.
“First, protect, then develop prosperity. First protect, then educate. Uphold world order. What is the point of building buildings, airports, railways, reservoirs if this country is not intact, not secure, not protected,” he continued.
