Hambalang, Bogor— The Minister of Defense (Menhan) of Indonesia and the president-elect for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto, performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Nurul Wathan Mosque located in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (17/6).
Prabowo arrived at the Nurul Wathan Mosque wearing a white koko shirt and a black peci. As he entered the mosque, Prabowo greeted the local residents.
He then quickly made his way to the front row of the mosque to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer, which started at 07:00 AM.
After completing the prayer, Prabowo greeted the residents and exchanged greetings with them.
“Selamat Iduladha (Happy Eid al-Adha),” the residents said to Prabowo.
The residents were also enthusiastic about taking photos with Prabowo, including the women and children.
“Salim Pak (Greetings, Sir),” the children said to Prabowo.
“Salim,” Prabowo replied as he hugged and kissed the foreheads of the children present.
In this Eid al-Adha 1445 H moment, Prabowo was inspired by the lessons from the exemplary stories of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, which involve sacrifice and sharing the meat with those in need to bring happiness and provide the best nutrition.
This year, Prabowo performed the sacrifice of 145 cattle distributed across various regions. A total of 89 cattle were distributed to religious scholars, leaders, Islamic mass organizations, Islamic boarding schools, and Mosque Prosperity Councils (DKM).
Meanwhile, at Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, there were 38 cattle to be slaughtered and distributed to the local community. Additionally, at the Gerindra Party Headquarters, there were 20 cattle and 5 goats.
