President-elect Prabowo Subianto recently published an opinion piece in NewsWeek discussing his vision and mission for Indonesia’s future. While he did not mention the development of the new capital, Nusantara (IKN), in Kalimantan, a clarification from Gerindra Party stated that Prabowo’s silence on the matter does not indicate a lack of support for the project.
Gerindra’s Deputy Chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that Prabowo will continue programs initiated by President Jokowi, including the IKN project. Dasco urged the media not to misinterpret Prabowo’s omission of the IKN in his article as a lack of support for the project, citing Prabowo’s previous statements affirming his commitment to continuing Jokowi’s programs.
