Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were officially elected as president and vice president, after the General Election Commission (KPU) of Indonesia announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) evening. Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the citizens who exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election.
“We want to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to those who have exercised their voting rights in the 2024 election,” he said during a press conference at Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3).
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the KPU and the Election Supervisory Board (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 election, as well as to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) for ensuring that this year’s democratic event ran orderly and safely.
“On February 14, 2024, we experienced the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Indonesian Forward Coalition, thank you to the KPU, DKPP, and a great appreciation to the TNI-Polri for conducting the 2024 election in an orderly, safe, and peaceful manner,” he said.
Prabowo then thanked the Indonesian Forward Coalition (KIM) that supported him, especially the chairpersons and all party members involved. Additionally, Prabowo also thanked the National Campaign Team (TKN) and the volunteer supporters.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all chairpersons and members of all parties in KIM, as well as to the TKN, volunteers, and mothers who are present here (at Kertanegara IV residence),” Prabowo said.
Prabowo called on all Indonesian people to unite in bringing the country towards prosperity and justice. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of nationalism amidst differences.
“We invite all Indonesian people to look forward together, unite, and hold hands. We must be harmonious, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” Prabowo said.
“We must strengthen the spirit of nationalism, differences among us are good. We respect differences. The election is over, we must respect all the people’s choices,” he continued.
Finally, he emphasized that Prabowo-Gibran will be a president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people. Prabowo stated that they will prove this mandate by being leaders who truly serve the people.
“We have been chosen by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands. Prabowo-Gibran will be the president and vice president of the government for all Indonesian people. For those who did not vote for us, give us a chance. We will prove to be a president and vice president who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
